Can I install a chemical anchor in cold weather?
Yes, chemical anchors can be installed in cold weather, but it is important to follow the recommended temperature range to ensure proper curing, bonding strength, and long-term performance. Low temperatures can slow down the curing process or cause improper bonding if not handled correctly.
➤ Recommended Mortar Temperatures for Each Series:
• GU-100 / GU-600 / GU-2000: Keep the resin between 20°C to 25°C for optimal flow and bonding. Resin that is too cold may become thick, slow to mix, or fail to cure completely.
• GU-500 / GU-500SD: Designed for a wider temperature range, these high-performance epoxy mortars can be applied in temperatures between 15°C to 30°C.
➤ Tips for Cold Weather Installation:
• Store resin cartridges indoors at room temperature (around 20°C) for at least 24 hours before use.
• Avoid applying resin on frozen, icy, or wet substrates. Ensure the base material is dry and frost-free.
• Cold weather may require extended curing time. Always refer to the product's TDS (Technical Data Sheet) for curing schedules.
