Nylon sleeve for hollow brick fixing - The Ideal Companion for Chemical Anchors

Fixing into hollow or perforated bricks can be challenging. Traditional expansion anchors often cause cracks or fail to achieve reliable load performance. To solve this, Good Use Hardware offers specially designed nylon sleeves that, when combined with chemical anchors, create strong and expansion-free anchoring points in hollow structures.

How the Nylon Sleeve Works

Once inserted into the drilled hole, the nylon sleeve allows the chemical anchor resin (e.g., GU-100 polyester chemical anchor or GU-500 injection epoxy anchor) to flow evenly through its openings and fill the voids inside the brick. After curing, the resin and sleeve form a solid adhesive plug that transfers load safely without stressing the brittle masonry. This method is ideal for hollow and perforated bricks, lightweight blocks, and other hollow masonry, as well as for applications where expansion anchors are not suitable.

Nylon Sleeve Installation Guide - Ensure a Safe and Secure Anchor

Follow this step-by-step guide to correctly install the nylon sleeve and achieve a strong, reliable anchoring point. For visual reference, check the accompanying installation video.

1. Select the Correct Sleeve Size

Choose a nylon sleeve that matches your threaded rod or rebar diameter (e.g., Ø15×85 mm, Ø16×85 mm, Ø20×85 mm). Using the correct size ensures proper resin coverage and anchor strength.

2. Drill the Hole

Drill a hole to the recommended diameter and depth for your sleeve. Thoroughly clean the hole using a brush and an air blower to remove dust and debris, ensuring maximum adhesion.

3. Insert the Nylon Sleeve

Push the sleeve into the hole until it sits flush with the surface. Confirm that the sleeve is fully seated and straight to prevent misalignment.

4. Inject the Chemical Anchor Resin

Fill the sleeve with resin from the bottom up, carefully avoiding air pockets. This ensures complete bonding and structural integrity of the anchor.

5. Insert the Threaded Rod or Rebar

Snap on the alignment collar before inserting the threaded rod or rebar. This ensures the rod stays centered for consistent and accurate installation. Insert the rod carefully, twisting slightly if necessary to evenly distribute the resin. Allow the resin to cure fully before applying any load to guarantee a strong and secure anchoring point.

Tips for Best Results:
  • Always use a chemical anchoring resin compatible with the sleeve and base material, and discard any unmixed resin.
  • For hollow or perforated blocks, make sure the resin fills the cavity completely.
  • Follow the resin manufacturer’s curing time to ensure maximum strength.
Why Choose Good Use Nylon Sleeves
  • Non-expanding design prevents stress or cracking on the substrate.
  • Made from high-strength nylon that is resistant to UV and temperature extremes.
  • Compatible with most injection mortars and threaded rods.
  • Maximized bonding area enhances load capacity and pull-out strength.
  • Easy and clean installation without the need for special tools.
