Select right chemical anchor for safety fixings
To guarantee safe and durable fixings, it's essential to understand the chemical properties for appropriate applications before making a selection. However, many customers are unsure about how to choose the right chemical anchor and find it challenging to differentiate between the various resins. Good Use Hardware will discuss the characteristics of the resins we use in our chemical anchor series.
Good Use Hardware offers three types of resin in their chemical anchor range: Polyester, Epoxy acrylate, and Pure epoxy.
Polyester Chemical Anchor- GU-100
The GU-100 polyester chemical anchor is a popular choice among beginners and wholesalers due to its versatility and cost-effectiveness. Suitable for a wide range of standard fixings, it offers medium to high bonding strength, making it ideal for general applications such as handrails, machinery installation, and suspended fixtures. Additionally, it is best suited for dry environment applications, ensuring reliable performance in non-moisture-sensitive conditions.
Epoxy Acrylate Chemical Anchor- GU-600
Vinyl ester resin is produced by the esterification of epoxy resin with acrylic or methacrylic acids which is also known as epoxy acrylate. It can extend to multiple products for chemical resistance in the market. Good Use Hardware GU-600 epoxy acrylate chemical anchor has combine both advantages of unsaturated polyester resin and epoxy resin which make it having excellent bonding strength and corrosion resistance to acidic and alkali. Its rapid strength could bring higher bonding strength to connect objects and concrete within one hour (In temperature 30~40℃ condition).
Vinyl Ester Chemical Anchor- GU-2000
The latest version of vinyl ester chemical anchors is free of styrene. The GU-2000 vinyl ester chemical anchor is the fastest-curing anchoring resin, ideal for rapid setting in vertical and overhead installations. Its short hardening time makes it particularly well-suited for applications in cold weather, ensuring strong and effective bonding even in low temperatures. It is best for applications in cold areas, as well as bridges, tunnels, or marine structures.
Pure Epoxy Chemical Anchor- GU-500
Epoxy resins are also known as artificial resin and widely used in industry because steady property and multifunctional capacity. It is a thermosetting polymer that contain epoxides which means it would only react by adding the hardeners or curing agents. The previously soft epoxy will be converted into a rigid material. The GU-500 two-component epoxy chemical anchor is distinguished by very good thermal and compound properties achieve outstanding bonding strength and provide longer working time for diamond-drilled holes and large diameter installation.
Pure Epoxy For Chemical Anchor- GU-500SD
Upgraded GU-500SD epoxy chemical anchor is designed to perform reliably across a wide range of climate conditions while offering convenient storage. Its slower curing time makes it particularly well-suited for applications in tropical environments, ensuring optimal adhesion and performance. It is also a best option for structural applications, rebar connections, high-load installations, and anchoring in damp and wet conditions. It’s high moisture resistance can bond well even in damp holes.
Understanding the characteristics of each resin is only the initial step; we must also take into account the specific applications and conditions at the project location. This comprehensive evaluation will help us select the appropriate chemical anchor. The final phase involves testing the chemical anchor in practice to ensure that the data aligns with all necessary requirements. Having experienced installers and technicians review the details throughout the entire process is crucial for minimizing human error. The Good Use Hardware sales team can provide support with product knowledge and performance evaluation.
